Meaning: Do / Do not
A strong positive and negative imperative form, used particularly by males. Also used for shouting out at support at sports events or in the language of supporters, posters and banners. Can also be used when giving instruction indirectly without using quotation mark.
Formation:
命令形・禁止形
Example sentences:
- 【試合で】監督「走れ、走れ！」
- [Shiai de] kantoku `hashire, wa shire!’
- [At the match] Coach “Run, run!”
- [मैच में] निर्देशक “रन, रन!”
- 犬に「降りろ。」と命令した。犬は命令に従った。
- Inu ni `oriro.’ To meirei shita. Inu wa meirei ni shitagatta.
- I ordered the dog to “get off.” The dog obeyed the order.
- मैंने कुत्ते को “उतरने” का आदेश दिया। कुत्ते ने आज्ञा का पालन किया।
- 赤信号は止まれという意味です。
- Akashingō wa tomare to iu imidesu.
- The red light means stop.
- लाल बत्ती का मतलब है रुकना।
- 引っ越しを手伝ってくれと友達に頼んで見よう。
- Hikkoshi o tetsudatte kure to tomodachi ni tanonde miyou.
- Ask a friend to help you for shifting.
- शिफ्टींग के लिए मदद करे ऐसा किसी मित्र से पूछें।
- 立て札に「スピードを出すな！」と書いてある。
- Tatefuda ni `supīdo o dasu na!’ To kaitearu.
- It is written on the signboard “Don’t speed!”
- साइनबोर्ड पे लिखा है “गति मत करो!”
- 父は医者にお酒を飲むなと言われている。
