Meaning: It seems as if, it looks as if, it appears as if […..(जैसा)लगता है ]
～ようです conveys the speaker’s subjective conjecture, which is based on the information obtained through his / her sensory organs.
A sentence that ends with ～ようです sometimes accompanies どうも which suggest the speaker cannot be certain if what he / she is saying is a fact.
Formation:
「動詞・い―形容詞・なー形容詞(だー＞な)・名詞(だー＞の)」の普通形＋ようです。
Plain form of [Verb / い-adjective / な-adjective(だー＞な) / Noun(だー＞の)+ようです 。
Example sentences:
- ミラーさんは忙しいようです。
- Mirā-san wa isogashī yōdesu.
- It seems that Mr. Miller is busy.
- मिलर व्यस्त लग रहा है।
- 「人が大勢集まっていますね。」「事故のようですね、パトカーと救急車が来ていますよ。」
- `Hito ga oozei atsumatte imasu ne.’`Jiko no yōdesu ne, patokā to kyūkyūsha ga kite imasu yo.’
- “A lot of people are gathering.” “It looks like an accident, police cars and ambulances are coming.”
- “बहुत सारे लोग इकट्ठा हो रहे हैं।” “दुर्घटना जैसा लगता है, पुलिस की कारें और एम्बुलेंस आ रही हैं।”
- 咳も出るし、頭も痛い。どうも風邪を引いたようだ。
- Seki mo derushi, atama mo itai. Dōmo kaze o hiita yōda.
- I have a cough and headache too, It looks like I have caught a cold.
- मुझे खांसी है और मेरा सिर भी दर्द कर रहा है। मुझे लगता है कि मुझे सर्दी लग गई।
