Meaning: if it were the case that ……, then certainly; if one were to speak of ………….., then certainly; speaking of
In this pattern a word is picked up from a topic and continued it in the next discussion to talk real thing or to talk anything about it.

Example sentences:
- この写真はハワイで撮りましたか。ハワイと言えばカリナさんが来週ハワイから国へ帰るんだそうだ。
- Kono shashin wa Hawai de torimashita ka. Hawai toieba karinasan ga raishū Hawai kara kuni e kaeru nda sōda.
- Did you take this picture in Hawaii? If to talk about Hawaii, Karina will be returning to the country from Hawaii next week.
- क्या आपने यह तस्वीर हवाई में ली थी? अगर हवाई के बारे में बात की जाए तो लगता है कि करीना अगले हफ्ते हवाई से देश लौट आएंगी।
- 私たちはフランスと言えばエッフェル塔を思い出す。
- Watashitachiha Furansu toieba efferutō o omoidasu.
- Speaking of France, we remember the Eiffel Tower.
- फ्रांस की बात करें तो हमें एफिल टॉवर याद है।
- A「国内飛行機料金は安くなるみたいですね。」Ｂ「そのようですね、安くなると言えば、来月飛行機しようと思っているんです。」
- A `kokunai hikōki ryōkin wa yasuku naru mitaidesu ne.’ B `sono yōdesu ne, yasuku naru to ieba, raigetsu hikōki shiyou to omotte iru ndesu.’
- A “It looks like domestic airfares will be cheaper.” B “Looks like that, speaking of cheaper, I’m thinking of flying next month.”
- “ऐसा लगता है कि घरेलू हवाई किराए सस्ते होंगे।” बी “ऐसा लगता है, सस्ता बोलते हुए, मैं हर महीने उड़ान भरने के बारे में सोच रहा हूं।”
- 今の家の近くにスーパーがありませんので不便と言えば不便ですが、静かでいいですよ。
- Ima no ie no chikaku ni sūpā ga arimasen’node fuben to ieba fubendesuga, shizukade īdesu yo.
- Since there is no supermarket near this house, if one says it’s inconvenient, yes its inconvenient, but it’s good as its quiet.
- चूंकि इस घर के पास कोई सुपरमार्केट नहीं है, अगर कोई कहता है कि यह असुविधाजनक है, तो हाँ यह असुविधाजनक है, लेकिन यह शांत है तो अच्छा है।
- うちの犬は、かわいいと言えばかわいいけど、見ず知らず人を見たら、すぐに噛もうとする。
- Uchinoinu wa, kawaī to ieba kawaīkedo, mizushirazu hito o mitara, sugu ni kamou to suru.
- My dog if one say that it is pretty, yes it is pretty, but when it see a stranger, it immediately tries to bite him.
