JLPT N5 GRAMMAR: ～でしょう (～deshou)

Meaning: right? don’t you agree? (….है ना, …. करेंगे ना)
When the speaker expects that the listener has some knowledge on the topic being discussed and that the listener will agree with the speaker’s view, でしょうis used with a rising intonation to confirm the listener’s agreement.
Formation:
「名詞だ・ナー形容詞だ」・「動詞・い形容詞」の普通形 +でしょう
「Ｎounだ/なーadjective だ」/「Verb / い-adjective」Plain form + でしょ う
Example sentences:
- 「明日パーティーに行くでしょう？」「…ええ、行きます。」
- `Ashita pātī ni ikudeshou?’`… Ē, ikimasu.’
- “You are going to party, tomorrow, aren’t you?” “Yes I am.”
- “क्या तुम कल पार्टी में जाओगे ना?” “… हाँ, मैं जाऊँगा।”
- 「北海道は 寒かったでしょう？」「いいえ、そんなに寒くなかったです。」
- `Hokkaidō wa samukattadeshou?’`Īe, son’nani samukunakattadesu.’
- “It was cold in Hokkaido, wasn’t it?” “It wasn’t that cold.”
- ” होक्काइडो में ठंड थी ना?” “नहीं, इतनी ठंडा नहीं थी।”
