The verb form, adjective form or noun form which ends with て or で is called て-form.

The verbs are to be modified as per the groups of the verbs for making the て-form. Depending on the last sound of ます form, the て form is made as below.

Group I : When last sound of ます form, is “い” like い、き、し、ち、に、ひ、み、り、then the て form is made as below.

ます形		て形
*いきます かいます かきます いそぎます かします まちます よびます のみます かえります	いー＞って いー＞って きー＞いて ぎー＞いで しー＞して ちー＞って びー＞んで みー＞んで りー＞って	いって かって かいて いそいで かして まって よんで のんで かえって

Group II : When the last sound of ます form is “え” like え、け、せ、て、ね、へ、め、れ, then the て form is made as below.

ます形		て形
調べます 見せます でます 食べます 寝ます *います *おきます *みます *かります	ますー＞て	調べて 見せて でて 食べて 寝て いて おきて みて かりて

Group III: When verbs formed from nouns by attaching します、then て form is made as below.

ます形		て形
*きます します 散歩します 勉強します	ますー＞て	きて して 散歩して 勉強して

The て form of い-adjective is made by removing い from the いー adjective and attaching くて as shown below.

いー形容詞		て形
新しい 大きい いい 小さい	いー＞くて	新しくて 大きくて よくて（＊exception） 小さくて

The て form of Noun & な-adjective is made by adding で in the end as shown below.

な―形容詞		て形
インド人 大学 静か きれい	なー＞で	インド人で 大学で 静かで きれいで（＊exception）
