意味
接続動た形＋つもりだ
動ーている形＋つもりだ
イー形容詞い＋つもりだ
ナー形容詞だー＞な＋つもりだ
名詞だー＞の＋つもりだ

Meaning: intend to, plan to do something, plan on doing something, to be convinced that.

Means something like ” this at any rate is my feeling about ~,” (though in reality the things may be different, or others may disagree.) Can also be used to criticize another person.

Formation:

動た形＋つもりだ
動ーている形＋つもりだ
イー形容詞い＋つもりだ
ナー形容詞だー＞な＋つもりだ
名詞だー＞の＋つもりだ

*この使い方の場合、動辞書形・ない形には使わない。This pattern we had learnt in N4

Example sentences:

  • 私は今年77歳ですが、まだまだ若いつもりです。
  • Watashi wa kotoshi 77-saidesuga, madamada wakai tsumoridesu.
  • I am 77 years old this year, but I am still young.
  • मैं इस साल 77 साल का हूं, लेकिन अभी भी युवा हूं।
  • 冗談で言ったつもりの言葉だったが、彼は怒ったような顔をした。
  • Jōdan de itta tsumori no kotobadattaga, kare wa okotta yōna kao o shita.
  • He said with the intention of joking, but he looked angry.
  • उसने मजाक के उद्देश से कहा था, लेकिन वह गुस्से में दिख रहा था।
  • 先に入社した由美は先輩のつもりらしいが、本当は私の方が年上なのだ。
  • Saki ni nyūsha shita Yumi wa senpai no tsumorirashīga, hontōwa watashi no kata ga toshiuena noda.
  • Yumi who joined the company first seems to be a senior, but in reality, I am older.
  • पहले कंपनी में शामिल होने वाली यूमी, एक वरिष्ठ लगती है, लेकिन वास्तव में मैं बड़ी हूँ।
  • こんなに汚いのに、それでも掃除したつもりですか。
  • Kon’nani kitanai no ni, soredemo sōji shita tsumoridesu ka.
  • Though it’s so dirty, do you still plan to clean it?

  • バッグに財布を入れたつもりだった、買い物をしようとしたら、なかった。
  • Baggu ni saifu o ireta tsumoridatta, kaimono o shiyou to shitara, nakatta.
  • I was convinced (I thought) that I put the purse in the bag, but when I tried to shop, it didn’t.
  • मैने सोचा कि मैने अपना पर्स अपने बैग में रखा है, लेकिन जब मैंने खरीदारी करने की कोशिश की, तो यह नहीं हुआ।
  • この問題はわかっているつもりだったが、テストでは間違えてしまった。
  • Kono mondai wa wakatte iru tsumoridattaga, tesutode wa machigaete shimatta.
