Meaning: How many (people) [कितने (लोग)?]
なんにん is used to ask how many persons which are counted as ひとり、ふたり、さんにん、よにん、ごにん、ろくにん、ななにん・しちにん、きゅうにん、じゅうにん、なんにん.
Example sentences:
- 「この会社に外国人が何人いますか。」「…5人います。」
- `Kono kaisha ni gaikoku hito ga nan-nin imasu ka.’`… gonin imasu.’
- “How many foreigners are there in this company?””…There are five.”
- “इस कंपनी में कितने विदेशी हैं?” “… 5 लोग हैं।”
- 「女の人が何人いますか。」「…６人います。」
- `On’anohito ga nan-nin imasu ka.’`… 6-nin imasu.’
- “How many women are there?” “… There are six.”
- “कितनी महिलाएं हैं?” “… छह हैं।”
- 「田中さんはご主人と子供が2人います。田中さんの家族は全部でなんにんですか。」「…4人です。」
- `Tanaka-san wa goshujin to kodomo ga 2-ri imasu. Tanaka-san no kazoku wa zenbu de nan ni ndesu ka.’`… 4-ninidesu.’
- “Tanaka-san has husband and two children. How many people are there in Tanaka-san’s family in total?” “… 4 people.”
